What We Do

Family and Marriage Counseling

Family and Marriage Counseling & Family and marriage therapy is a branch of psychotherapy that works with families and couples to nurture positive change and development. It views family relationships as an important factor in psychological health, regardless of the problem, and that involving families in the solutions is beneficial.
Family and marriage counselors are generally more interested in what goes on between people rather than in people. They focus on family or couple interaction patterns, interpersonal conflict, suggesting different ways to respond to each other, while enhancing communication skills. Marriage and family therapists come from a range of professional backgrounds, have earned a degree, and are licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Social Work

Social work is the study of social theory to improve the lives of people, groups, and societies. Social workers are concerned with social problems including their causes, solutions and human impact. Their focus is to enhance the quality of life of individuals, groups and communities by helping them reach their full potential. Social workers typically hold a professional degree in Social Work and may be licensed and registered.
Social workers provide a variety of services to those in need including: case management (linking clients with agencies and programs that will meet their psychosocial needs), and medical social work (working with clients in hospitals, nursing facilities, schools, or hospice environments). They might work with people who are homeless, sick, disabled, or having family problems. Some social workers specialize in child abuse, poverty, violence, disability assistance, or other problems. Some social workers work as psychotherapists, counselors, or mental health practitioners.
